In a town like Nanaimo, people know how to make their own fun. Come visit if you want to have a great time in a fun community atmosphere!

NANAIMO OKTOBERFEST

A celebration of German and Bavarian heritage, Oktoberfest is one of the most popular festivals the whole world over! Put on your clogs and lederhosen and head to Nanaimo on October 19, because the Beban Park Social Club is putting on an old-school party with plenty of brats, sauerkraut, pretzels and of course lager! With live music by the Doctors of Rock and Roll, it’s sure to be an absolutely phenomenal time.

CATSINO NIGHT SPCA FUNDRAISER

Support the Nanaimo SPCA and have a great night out on the town! Taking place at the Beban Park Social Club on October 25, Catsino night is a pet-themed Las Vegas experience.

Play classic casino games of chance like blackjack and roulette, all while enjoying great food by local chef Lisa Lipiec, AKA “The Food Genie!”  To give a genuine Las Vegas feel, the night will also feature a soundtrack from Dolly Parton and Frank Sinatra impersonators, as well as musician Jona Kristinsson. Have fun while doing something good for the community at Catsino Night!

SLOAN

In the 90s, Sloan WAS Canadian indie rock. These rockers from Halifax defined the sound of the 90s, combining the smooth sounds of classic British rock and the grunge-ified strains of 90s distortion. Sloan plays music for people who want to party, and feel good doing it. You can see them in Nanaimo on their Navy Blues Tour on October 28 at the Nanaimo Entertainment Centre – put on your best torn flannel and Doc Marten’s and come see a great show!

Nanaimo knows how to party, which means if you’re visiting you want a comfortable bed so you can rest up after a night of celebration. You’ll find that at the Best Western Dorchester Inn on Nanaimo’s downtown waterfront – book your stay today!
