The holiday season is upon us, and thankfully, there is no shortage of festive events happening in Nanaimo. One of our favourite types of holiday events are Christmas markets. This year, there are plenty of fairs, sales, and markets taking place in Nanaimo, selling everything from handmade jewellery and artwork to skincare products and sweets. For a list of the top holiday markets coming to Nanaimo, keep reading!

Fa La La La Local

Fa La La La Local is a Christmas market hosted by The Mom Market Vancouver Island. This festive market will be taking over the old GAP location at the Woodgrove Centre from November 19th until the 22nd. Fa La La La Local promises to feature all kinds of gifts from local vendors. Plus, there will be a daily prize draw!

Coombs Christmas Market

The Coombs Christmas Market is back, taking over the Coombs Fairground on December 4th and 5th from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. This year’s event promises to have plenty of artisanal crafts, gourmet food items, and handmade gifts. Vendors will be set up both indoors and outdoors, and several food trucks will be on-site (in addition to concessions sold by the Sweet Spot Bake Shop).

Vancouver Island Winter Retail Market

The Vancouver Island Winter Retail Market returns to Nanaimo for four full days this December. From December 2nd until the 5th, the market will be set up in the Old Sears Building at Nanaimo North Town Centre. The Vancouver Island Winter Retail Market promises to bring aisles and aisles of homemade holiday treats, bath and body products, sustainably-crafted artwork, and much more. There will be over 120 vendors in total, plus several local craft food and drink makers.
