Calling all Guitar Fiends: International Guitar Night is Coming to the Port Theatre, Nanaimo

 
Described as "a fiery acoustic extravaganza" by Guitar World, International Guitar Night is a massive hit with Nanaimo’s many music-lovers every year.
 
This year’s event takes place on Friday, January 26 at the Port Theatre. The Spotlight Series presentation showcases world-class guitar talent, so you may prepare to have your socks blown off!
 
Musicians will be performing their latest original compositions and exchanging musical ideas in an intimate concert setting – making the event a unique way for first class guitarists to share techniques and ideas.
 
Gypsy Jazz legend Lulo Reinhardt will be hosting and performing with a prestigious cast of guitar luminaries: Calum Graham, a young Canadian contemporary sensation; Marek Pasieczny, Poland's innovative classical composer and performer, and award-winning American guitarist Michael Chapdelaine.
 
It’s set to be a dynamic and engaging evening of solos, duets and quartets showcasing the dexterity and diversity of the world of the acoustic guitar. 
 
Tickets are $42 for adults, $12.50 for youths and students, $38 for members and $5 for eyeGO high school students.
 
This year’s eclectic Spotlight Season at the Port Theatre is simply jam-packed with award-winning performers, from shocking and exquisite music sensation Tanya Tagaq, to a spectacular double bill of contemporary circus arts in Circus Squared.
 
The bold and innovative Ballet BC will also be showcasing three works from internationally-celebrated female choreographers who are reshaping contemporary ballet.
