If you haven’t been to Nanaimo in the spring, you have no idea how deep and dark the blue waters are or the way that the greenery of the shore descends right down to the rocks at the water’s edge. It’s an astounding part of the world and we love it very much.

NANAIMO HERITAGE FESTIVAL

It’s back for another year, and we couldn’t’ be more excited! The Nanaimo Heritage Festival is one of the year’s biggest family-friendly parties. The Heritage Festival Parade begins at 1 PM at Victoria Crescent and winds through town arriving at Maffeo Sutton Park, where there will be food, live music, games, a bouncy castle and more!

This year’s theme is “Peace, Love, and Revolution” so put on your best tie-dye and round glasses and get into the spirit!

PACIFICSPORT VANCOUVER ISLAND ACTIVE FOR LIFE EXPO

On May 25 come to Maffeo Sutton Park to talk with fitness experts on fun ways to get active! This public event is designed to share fun ways to get outside and moving for people of all ages and levels! Come out in the sun, wear something you can move in and have a great time with games, activities and more!

JENN GRANT

Jenn Grant is one of Canada’s most beautiful voices. Originally from Nova Scotia, she now calls BC her home, meaning her experience of Canada is literally from sea to shining sea! A gifted singer-songwriter who can create a feeling of deep intimacy in her songs, Jenn Grant is an astounding performer who will transform St. Andrew’s United Church into an incredible concert experience on May 23!

The spirit of Nanaimo truly shines, and if you want to witness it stay downtown at the Best Western Dorchester Inn. Our unbeatable location is walking distance from everywhere you’ll want to go in downtown Nanaimo, including Maffeo Sutton Park! Book a room and come take part in the fun!
